Chile's first space weather platform

The FONDEF IDEA project, led by Universidad Adventista de Chile with USACH as partner institution, aims to anticipate solar events that affect critical technologies.

The FONDEF IDEA I+D project was presented. It develops a pilot platform for real-time space weather monitoring and early warnings in Chile, led by Universidad Adventista de Chile (director: Manuel Bravo) with USACH as partner institution, where Dr. Victor Pinto is principal investigator.

The platform will combine satellite and ground magnetometer data with deep-learning forecasting models. The launch was covered by Diario Usach, Cooperativa Ciencia, Crónica Digital, and other outlets.
